Background

I was educated in Zimbabwe and Ireland and trained originally as an actor. In the 70’s, I worked in the theatre and television but decided to focus on writing as the decade came to an end. My interest in using computers for creative design developed with the technology that saw early ‘word processors’ , like the Amstrad, become steadily more capable.

In the eighties and nineties, I divided my time between teaching and scriptwriting; working on commissions for theatre and television, as well as free-lance copywriting for marketing and live events.

Then in 1997, I  enrolled at Westminister University for the newly created MA course in Hypermedia. I graduated with Distinction in 1998 and worked as new media designer for a small design agency (1998-1999) and as senior designer for a London based consultancy (1999 to  2001).

In 2001, I made the decision to stop working full time as a designer and to give myself more freedom to follow other pursuits. I presently work as a freelance designer, teach part-time, and work at my writing whenever I can find the time.
